How it works
°C = (°F − 32) × 5⁄9, rounded to the nearest 10 °C as on oven dials. Fan (convection) ovens run about 20 °C hotter, so recipes for them are 20 °C lower.
Questions & answers
What is 350 °F in Celsius?
175–180 °C — recipes and oven dials use 180 °C (gas mark 4). In a fan oven use 160 °C.
Should I lower the temperature for a fan oven?
Yes, by about 20 °C (25 °F), or keep the temperature and shorten the time slightly.
